Seema Kushwaha is an advocate for the Supreme Court of India. She fought the gang rape and murder case of Nirbhaya, a 2012 gang-rape victim in Delhi. Seema Kushwaha was born on Thursday, October 2, 1986 (33 years old; as in 2019), in the village of Ugrapur in the Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. Her full name is Seema Samridhi Kushwaha.

She earned an LLB degree from Kanpur University in 2005 and a BA in Journalism in 2006 from Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University. She has also completed a Master’s in Political Science. He took over the Nirbhaya case in 2013 and fought tirelessly for seven long years until the convicts were executed in 2020.

Career

She embarked on her legal practice at the Supreme Court of India in 2013. Until then, he had not fought any cases in court. It succeeded in having the death penalty passed for the four convicted by the Saket Court in 2013, the Delhi High Court in 2014, and finally by the Supreme Court of India in 2020. Eventually, the convicts were hanged to death at the Delhi facility. Tihar Jail on March 20, 2020.

She will reportedly represent the family of the Hathras 2020 gang-rape victim in a legal battle to obtain justice for their daughter.

  • She was the first girl in her town to continue her studies beyond the eighth grade.
  • she was aspiring to become an IAS officer and was preparing for the UPSC exam when the 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape and murder case took place.
  • Before taking up the Nirbhaya case in 2013, Seema took to the streets in Delhi and participated in protests seeking justice for Nirbhaya in the wake of the monstrous crime.

  • She did not charge a fee for fighting the Nirbhaya case.
  • She is a legal advisor to the “Nirbhaya Jyoti Trust”, an institute established by the parents of Nirbhaya to help women who have experienced violence find shelter and legal assistance, and also to the Jyotiba Phule Foundation for Social Justice.
  • Seema Kushwaha supported the Telangana Police in the meeting of defendants, in 2019 the gang rape and murder of a veterinarian in a meeting and reprimanded those who criticized the measure.
