Jason Donovan had to quit dancing on ice after struggling to recover from a back injury.

Jason Donovan is known to have been forced to quit Dancing on Ice after failing to recover from a back injury.

Former Neighbors star Jason, 52, is said to have told his boss that he can no longer skate at the show after struggling to recover from injuries despite a live show interruption on Sunday, February 21.

An ITV spokesman made the following statement: “Jason Donovan brought us a lot of joy with his performances in Dancing On Ice, from Priscilla to Tango.

“We thank Jason and his partner Alex. I’m sorry to see them leaving, and I wish Jason a quick recovery.”

Meanwhile, actor Jason said in a statement: “I have had back pain in the past two days, and I have been instructed to sit outside this week as directed by my doctor.

“I’m resting, I’ll be watching at home and cheering everyone up and looking forward to coming back next week.”

And one source claimed that the recent revelation would be a new blow to the show, which witnessed four other celebrities having to leave early. “This year is nothing but a total massacre.

“There are injuries in the left right and center, and COVID above it. No one could foresee this level of dropout,” added The Sun Online.

Jason has been resting for the past week with back pain, but he hasn’t made enough recovery to return to the show.

Jason will be the fifth star to be eliminated from the series with Billie Faiers, Rufus Hound, Denise van Outen and Joe-Warren Plant.
